My Story, Part One Hundred Sixty One

I’m making progress, even if it’s at a price. I’m a bit sore; ran a hard four miles on Tuesday evening, then an easy six tonight. Tuesday was hard in intensity, but easy to do because the terrain was flat, friends were with me, and the weather was nice.

Tonight was a different story.

It was raining. My friends were at a Tweetup that was quite inviting. I got out of work late. I didn’t finish until nearly 8 pm and I had errands to do after the run as well.

But I did it.

Discipline is not running when you love it and it’s nice out and your friends are with you. It’s running when it’s raining and you’re tired and you want to be somewhere else.

That’s progress. At a price, but a price that’s worth it.
