Climbing Back Up the Fitness Ladder

If fitness is a ladder, the last few weeks I’ve been going down. The combination of a few days of travel, some social obligations, an unexpected weekend work day, and a week of being on call really contributed to this.

But the person responsible is still the guy in the mirror.

What’s important right now isn’t to say how much fitness I’ve lost, or how much I’ve let things slide over the last two weeks–what’s important is to get back on that horse and ride. Meaning I need to run, ride, lift, swim, and eat as best as I can.

Today was three miles of a hard run in the midday sun; tomorrow is some riding in the early evening; Friday is a three mile easy run; Saturday will be both a ride and a run, Sunday will be a ride only and Monday is the Great Aloha Run.

I’ve got to get back up that ladder. It’s not a choice: it’s a requirement.
