My Story Part Ninety Eight

I feel like I blew it but I’m not really sure what happened. As I detailed yesterday, I put in a disappointing performance in the Great Aloha Run after running sub 12 minute miles in races since December.

I’m still not really sure what happened.

While many others have given their opinions on the overly crowded start and the need to pass and dodge runners, walkers, and strollers as well as the heat, it doesn’t really explain much. I’ve done this race for years in similar conditions, and I’ve never been this slow.

Chalk it up to a rough day or the Oakland trip or… ?

We’ll see how training goes over the next few weeks.

Lost a lot of time for a variety of reasons, some or them the ones you mentioned. I wasn’t even aware of the full impact of the heat until that evening. I was dizzy and felt flush. Disappointed with myself and my time. Mostly my fault, but not all. Injured myself but not sure how. A co-worker did too. Neither one of us know why.

At least you’ve talked about it. I’m yet to publish a thing about it. Tsk! I will and link back to you just because. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
