My Story, Part One Hundred Fourteen

I’m enthused for the first time in awhile. As I detailed yesterday, my Ford Island Bridge Run 10K result was not just substantially better than last year’s–which was a fiasco–it was substantially better than my disappointing result at the Great Aloha Run.

Now, however, the emphasis is really more cycling than running, with the Haleiwa Metric Century looming at the end of the month and my not having ridden more than 40 miles since last year.

That changes on Monday, weather permitting.

Cycling training and running training are not the same, but they complement each other well. Cycling is easier on the joints but often ends up taking longer amounts of time–at least for me. Running is a quicker workout but often leaves me sore.

Let’s see if my strong result in the Ford Island leads to a strong metric at the end of the month.
