Running For My (Own) Life

I’m still not a fan of running. I don’t think I ever will be, even if I’m doing it better than I ever have before.

But I will say this: running is likely helping to save my life.

There’s no more time efficient and cost efficient aerobic exercise for me than running. Putting in half an hour reaps huge benefits for my fitness, blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Putting in an hour does even more, and while cycling will always be my first athletic love, an hour is just barely a warmup.

So I’ll keep running, even though my current emphasis is cycling, not just because I’m getting better, but because the life I save with it is my own.
