I’m Hot, I’m Burnt, I’m Okay

Saturday’s long ride this week was in excess of 70 miles.

And although I planned to tackle this ride in the early morning, since I had a birthday party that night in the same area of the island I’d be beginning and ending my ride I decided that logistically that wasn’t the best plan, so I started at midday instead.

I wouldn’t say that was a mistake, but conditions were definitely more challenging with the heat, and the wind picked up as well. But in the end, I was able to tackle the 70 miles without much in the way of issues and just two quick stops for G2 and food.

On Sunday, I’m definitely a bit dehydrated, sunburnt, and tired. Woke up with a bit of a cramp in my right hamstring, which is an odd place for me to cramp, but other than that okay.

I’m taking it easy today until this evening when I’ll try to do a short run.
