When More Equals More

When it comes time to build mileage while training for a ride or a run, there’s no substitute for it.

Yes, there is cross training, and there is treadmill running and stationary cycling, but these things are not the same as being out on the road in the sport you’ll be competing in.

I can say that running has made me a better cyclist, but not by being an adequate substitute for cycling; it’s made me better because I’ve learned how to deal with pain and gained discipline in doing a sport I don’t enjoy.

In any case, I need more miles before next month. I’ll get them.
